Ban Nam Khem Tsunami Memorial Park is a beautiful place that was built in memory to the many thousands of people who died during the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.

The little museum has some good information that is also in English but it is such a shame that the plaques on the wall are deteriorating so badly that you can barely see most of the photos and inscriptions.

Such a beautiful serene place but very sobering.

 

Ban Nam Khem Memorial Park is about 30 kilometers north of the Nang Thong Bay area of Khao Lak, then just follow the signs on the left for the turn off.
